PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE JANUARY 2018

Greetings Fellow Falconeers!

I hope your Holidays have been as good as mine.  Lots of family time and lots of munching.  I think I need a seat belt extender.

A BIG “Thank You” to Lauren & Tom Wanzie for hosting our annual Christmas gathering.  As always, good food with great friends.

Last year the weather for the Silver Springs NPD All Ford event was lousy.  Remember the 2016 Annual Silver Springs All Ford and Mustang Round Up ?  The official count through the gate was 642 Fords of all models including more than 20 Falcons most of which were our Chapter’s members.  Let’s hope that weather favors us at this one-day event on January 13th.  Here is a link to the show flyer.   http://www.npdlink.com/store/images/Ford-ShowFlyer2018.pdf

This is actually a multi-day event with the car show on Saturday.  They’re great about parking us together.  Registration begins at 7:00 am and ends at 10:00 am.  This is a free event and it will be the last for NPD at Silver Springs.  We will hold a brief meeting at 11:00.

Our Suncoast chapter annual dues are payable now for 2018 so if you please send a check to Tom Wanzie. You should have already received your renewal notice with provisions for any updates you might have.  Please make sure these are returned to Tom no later than March 31.  You must be an FCA member in good standing to belong to our Suncoast Chapter.

If you have any suggestions for meeting formats or details we need to address, please contact me.  My email is: shirawd@aol.com or call me anytime at 863-206-1990.  I look forward to hearing from you.

PS: Here is a link that I found on the Ford Falcon Owners Group in Facebook.  Great Hemmings article from 2011 comparing the 1965 Falcon to the 1965 Mustang.  An enjoyable read.  https://www.hemmings.com/blog/2011/12/11/sia-flashback-1965-falcon-vs-1965-mustang/
